About Kianna

What Am I About?

My niche explores the blending of two popular literary genres: romance and horror. On my website, you will find fiction ranging from micro fiction to flash fiction to novellas that explore the relationship between monsters, ghosts, and happily ever afters. Other things I include in my writing:

  • Working class people
  • Older or Middle aged people
  • Black, queer people
  • Gender nonconforming people
  • Subverted tropes
  • Themes surrounding racial justice, trauma healing, and personal empowerment
  • Some projects may or may not include sex.

All my short stories are written by me. Some short stories come with an audio production hosted by the Horny & Scared podcast, which you can find here.

Professional Background

I grew up in Houston. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor's of Arts in English and a minor in psychology. Since then, I have published and presented research on the relationship between nutrition and mental health; in addition, I designed curriculum for gardening and cooking classes. Currently, I craft newsletters, work-part time, and write fiction with primary focus on romance, erotica, and horror. I write LGBT books, poetry, short stories, flash fiction, micro fiction, and anthologies.

Personal Background

I am an urban, southern belle. I love visiting metaphysical shops (I call them JuJu shops), grabbing a glass of mead with my wife, and finding the next hole-in-the wall, local food place. When I'm not writing, I'm playing simulation games on my phone, watching live-stream of the latest indie horror games, and making art. Also, I like writing fan fiction in my spare time. My AO3 (Archive of Our Own) account name is Commoner. Feel free to check me out there if you're into Inuyasha, Naruto, or Sailor Moon fan fiction.
